The Finest Golf Society is a registered golf club with the Metropolitan Golf Association. The purpose of the Finest Golf Society Association it to create a comfortable environment for men and women of  Law Enforcement to enjoy a round of golf and to socialize with you peers.

When does the Finest Golf Society golf?

The Society gathers  one  day a month to golf. The  day that the Society golf  is on Mondays. 

After I become a member, how do I sign up to golf?

Once  you  send  in application and become a member and  you wish to golf on a particular  day of golf,  send  an email to FINESTGOLFERS@AOL.COM  that you want to golf.  You will receive and  email that conforms your signing up.

Can I join the Society if  I am not  a member of the  NYPD?

Yes,  the Finest Golf Society is open  to all members  of law enforcement, not  just the NYPD.  

I am  just starting to learn  how to golf.  Do I need to wait  until  I  get better  at golf to join?

No, The Society is  for all levels  of  golfers.  You will be paired up with golfers of  your  ability so  that you can enjoy yourself.

I  don't  golf but  I still would like to join the  Society.  Is that allowed?

Yes.  The Society is  open to  golfers as well as non golfers.  Non golfers are encouraged to  meet up with Society members after a round of golf.

Will I get lessons  if  I  join the Society?

No.  Our  time on the golf course is limited.  If you feel that you need  lessons, which is encouraged for  beginning golfers, we can  recommend a facility that is near you.

Does  the Society  go away on golfing trips?

Yes.  In 2007, 24 members  of the Society headed down to  Myrtle Beach, SC for the National Law Enforcement Officers Golf Classic.    For  2008, the Society is  again planning on going down to  the  NLEOGC in Myrtle Beach, as well possible trips to Florida and  Ocean City.

If I do not  want a  USGA  Handicap, is that  a  problem?

No, If you do not want to be  issued  a  USGA handicap that is not a problem.  If you do  not  have a USGA  handicap you are not eligible for  MGA  tournaments as well as  other tournaments that require a  handicap

Is there  a  dress code for  when the Society golf's?

Yes.  To honor the traditions  of the game of golf the  Society asks it's members to dress appropriately when  golfing with the Society.   A  collared shirt, or  golf   mock neck shirt is expected.   Denim jeans are not allowed.  We do this  as a sign of  respect to  the courses that we  are playing. 

Can I buy  golf  equipment from the Society?

No, we do not sell  golf  equipment.  The Society does  however keep  it's members informed  of internet golf warehouses that offer discounts.  When the Society receives an email offering discounts, that emails gets forwarded to all members of the Society.

Members are also kept updated  on  area golf  trade shows and expositions.

Can I buy  Finest Golf Society logo items if I am not a member of the Society?

Yes. 

Can I bring a  non Society member to golf with me?

Yes, if there is space available.  Priority is given to Society members when booking tee times.

Can I recommend a  golf  course for the Society to play?

Yes, the Society is  always looking to play new courses.
